In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Don’t You Forget About Me.”
In contrary to the writing prompt for today’s Daily Post, I do give my friends the freedom to forget about me (not totally). I mean , I don’t want my friends to feel guilty when they can’t call me to say ‘hi’ or greet me during my birthday. It’s not their responsibility and they shouldn’t be burdened. No matter how close we were once, there will really come a time when friends just forget things.
To my friends, I want you to know that I do understand (and that’s okay) if you forget to greet me during my special days. You may be passing some great troubles that time, or simply are too busy with your family, special someone, or you just simply forgot to greet me. That’s okay. =) You are still my friend, and forever will be. A friend loves at all times. I will not make a decision to make you not my friend anymore just because you did not do this or that. You became my friend because somewhere or sometime in the past, we’ve shared great memories worth being treasured. That’s enough. We may not talk to each other now, but I know when we see each other, stories will be endless, and sharings will be unstoppable. =)
