And Then There Were None

Aside from inspirational and self-development books, I really like reading suspense stories/detective stories. It makes me want to read the next chapters while guessing who I think the killer/mastermind is. There's this anticipation hoping that I got it right. 🙂

I rarely read romantic stories where the end is usually assumed to be happily ever after. You know the outcome and reading through the pages feels like…"ok, for formality's sake, I've read it" or sometimes, I read hoping to encounter thought provoking lines. But then, there's no urgency to read what will happen next because you know the end. Well, that's just me.

I rarely read fiction. I usually read something close to reality. So… I actually haven't read the Potter or Lord of the Rings series, neither did I have the desire to read them. Watching them is enough for me. 🙂

Last night, I just couldn't help but finish the book And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. It's about ten people with secret dark pasts who were invited to stay in an island by a wealthy man. The beautiful house in the island is where they stayed and were killed one by one. No one else was in the island meaning the killer must be one of them. But who? All ten died one by one in the island. I guessed it correctly. 🙂 Of course I won't name the killer here for the purpose of those who haven't read the book.

Well, it was a nice book. A page-turner indeed. 🙂
