Called to Excel

proverbs 1: Called to excel

How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? -Proverbs 1:22

There are times that I begin to live (and love) the easy, uncomplicated life with no desire to improve, with no desire to be better. For being better would require effort, time, and sacrifice.

This verse as if questions me on how long will I stay in mediocrity when I should be living in excellence in all that I do.  God has given me the means, the materials, everything I need to be better.  It’s just all up to me. I just have to be willing so that God can use every skill he has given me to help others know and experience God’s love.

If you turn at my reproof, behold I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. Proverbs 1:23

That is God’s promise. That he will make His words known to me and that if I listen to His words I will dwell secured in him and will be at ease, without fear of disaster.

For the simple are killed by their TURNING AWAY, and the COMPLACENCY of fools DESTROY them. Proverbs 1: 33

I guess that verse serves as a warning. =)
