Do You feel Stranded? Maybe you need to STOP

I saw a funny post about how a lady had it all planned out for 2020 and went completely blank when the year started because of all the crazy things that are happening in the world today like volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and of course, the pandemic that we are all facing.

I think the verse “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand” of Proverbs 19:21 rightly fits what we are experiencing right now.

This is a great time to STOP and asses what is happening. This acronym below will help you remember what to do the next time you feel stuck or stranded in a difficult situation.

S for STOP

Stop and breathe. Don’t panic. Sit back and let the tension decrease or even die down. Never make an important decision when you are at the peak or worst of your emotions. When you are too happy or too depressed, never say or decide something that you might regret later on.

T for THINK

Think of what happened. When did it all start or at what point in your life did it all start? Take a few moments back and track check why you are in your current situation.

O for Organize

Organize everything you’ve got; from tools, ideas, to materials you need to get back on track.

P for PLAN

Lay down everything before the Lord and ask him to lead you on the right track. Pray for wisdom and make a plan on how you can get out of the difficult situation you are in.

The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.
