God’s promises are always available when we need them. As I was decluttering some of my old things, I saw my old, but useful books. I was reminded of how important it is to USE and APPLY what we get from the materials that we have. Even if we have the most advanced machine, or the most brilliant invention on hand, but never use them, then those things can never benefit us in any way.
The Bible is full of God’s promises and if it stays on our tables dusted over a long period of time, we are missing Go’d instructions on how to live our lives as we should. We will fall in despair whenever we are in times of troubles if we don’t know God’s promises for us during these tough seasons.
Here are some powerful verses to remind us of God’s love and comfort. Many of us have been affected by this pandemic and I pray that these verses can help us keep the hope alive in us.
God’s promise of VICTORY
His VICTORIOUS RIGHT HAND. This is a reminder that God’s thoughts for us are towards victory, triumph, and success. He will not give up on us until he sees us victorious.
God’s promise of PROTECTION
My ROCK and FORTRESS. To know that the protection we have is a strong one, we can be confident that we shall not be greatly shaken. There will be shakening, but as long as we hold on to his word, we will keep standing.
God’s promise of STRENGTH
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength-they will walk on wings like eagles. I love the lyrics of this song Times of Refreshing by Hosanna Music , it says:
“When I’m weary from the fight
Of trying to do what’s right
You bring times of refreshing to my soul”
There would be times when we might think that walking in the right path causes other people to dislike us or to throw words at us, but as we seek and follow God, he refreshes us and provides us the strength we need to go on.
God’s promise of HIS PRESENCE
“I will be with you.” I just love that line. We often think that there is a special, physical place where God is and as if we will can only see God move in that specific place. God’s Spirit lives in those who believe in him. Those who committed their lives to him. He lives in us.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19
God’s promise of HEALING
Last night, I read of a Twitter thread of a young ‘transgender’ named Janz Tero who was fooled by a once bullied woman Sam Morales. Sam said she did everything as a form of revenge to the LGBT community who bullied her when she was younger. While reading the thread, all I could think of was how crushed everyone was. Every person in the issue is a victim. Every character involved in this movie-like thread had their own personal reasons and at this point, I can imagine how crushed everyone involved is. Janz, being fooled, Bilko being used, Sam- probably in utter humiliation of what happened, and all the other new characters on the sidelines rising up who were also schemed. I’m not here to blame any person involved. I’m pointing out that to be in any of those people’s shoes right now can be so crushing. Well, maybe our situation is less or even worse than what they are facing, but this is God’s promise to those who come to him for help: He is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. We may have had our lapses that caused us to be in the middle of the problematic situation we are in, but nothing is too difficult for God to do. No person is too far not to be redeemed.
We just have to come to him. I think the perfect song for this is Lift Up Your Hands by Basil Valdez
And He said, “Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest.”
God’s promise of GRACE
His grace is sufficient for us. Are we at the end of the rope? The edge of a cliff? Dead end? When we’ve done everything we could, God enters in. At this point, we know that it is not by our own power, not by or own might that success have come, but only through God and his grace made available to us.
God’s promise of PEACE
In my recent post Peace in the Middle of a Virus , I was reminded of the peace that is different from what the world gives which is temporary. The peace that God gives lasts longer than COVID-19 pandemic, God’s peace lasts forever.
God’s promise of LIFE
He gives life–abundantly. We may have lived our lives in waste for the past years, but God has given us a new life. We may have lived in the darkness, but he is the light that makes everything clear. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. As God’s children, don’t think that darkness has power over us. No. None at all. We can always say ‘no’ and resist it.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
God’s promises are always available to us. I hope these verses helped you in any way.
