I was walking in our neighborhood one morning when I saw this plant growing out of a drainage. It caught my attention because I couldn’t imagine how it happened and it also reminded me to keep growing.
If this plant did its best to search for light outside where it was, then we could do it too.
Make an effort
We often want to be spiritually fed by our leaders and pastors, but there would be times when they are not available and that is why we should also keep seeking God directly for leading and growth. We can’t always depend on others for our spiritual growth. We also need to exert an effort to help ourselves.
Avoid the blame game
Sometimes as Christians, when we have been stagnant in our spiritual lives, we tend to blame the church, our leaders, the church programs, and other people why we have been stagnant.
The truth is that there’s no other person who can help us grow our relationship with God than ourselves. We have to decide for ourselves today that we will do something today.
You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:17-18
