Redefining Tagaytay

by Gilian, in category Blogging, Philippines, TRAVEL

This place may not dance with the clouds, but it sings along the echo of the nature’s vastness. At any point in time, you can find yourself staring down at the perfect serendipity of the Creator’s craftsmanship telling you that this, far away from the city’s clamor, is a balcony of your home. by Gilian, in category Blogging, Family, Food, Jeddah, Philippines, Photography, Recipes, Reflections, Thoughts, Words

Yesterday,  I feasted with this Filipino-style chicken soup noodles with friends. In the Philippines,  it’s called chicken/beef mami. 🙂 Suddenly felt home. The bowl is usually stuffed with cooked noodles,  carrots, Chinese cabbage, spring onions,  toasted garlic, chicken/beef and egg. Beef or chicken soup is just added later on. Chicken mami recipe by Panlasang Pinoy… Read More

Last week, I went to Jeddah Corniche (seaside) with my family. There were kids playing with kites and my kids were just so amazed at them that my husband decided to look for one. They all enjoyed it. I wasn’t good at kite-flying when I was young, I think I just tried it twice or… Read More

Maine Mendoza Looks Like Rapunzel of Tangled

by Gilian, in category Philippines, Thoughts, Women, Wonders

Lately, I have been watching Tangled with my kids. While enjoying the movie, I’ve noticed that with every emotion that Rapunzel makes, the more that she resembles Yaya Dub or Maine Mendoza.  Weird but cute. Anyway, Maine Mendoza has recently become a phenomenal star in the Philippines along with her loveteam Alden Richards. Their loveteam… Read More

The Balikbayan Box

by Gilian, in category Philippines, Reflections, TRAVEL, Words

It’s great to know that the former President Ferdinand Marcos thought of balikbayan boxes as a sign of thanksgiving to our fellow Filipinos working abroad. According to Wikipedia: TAX-FREE BALIKBAYAN BOXES BY PRES. MARCOS On 1980, then Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos enacted Executive Order No. 206.[2] This order amended Section 105 (f) and added a new subsection (f-1) to… Read More
