The Beauty of The Sudden Pause

A bear was running towards a hidden electric wire, when the ranger saw the bear, he took his tranquilizing gun to stop the bear from hurting himself. The bear was hurt, questioned the ranger “You were supposed to protect me, why did you hurt me?!” The ranger ran towards the bear, hushing the bear who was in pain “A little more and you could have died from the hidden electric wires. I’m sorry if the means of stopping you was painful. I hope you can understand that the pain was actually for your protection.”

This reminds me of the many times God had to stop me from doing something that could further harm me. It happened during those times that I wouldn’t listen and that I thought I was doing the right thing without asking for his guidance.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.

It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. – Proverbs 3:5-8

Sometimes, our being wise in our own eyes and not turning away from doin wrong things causes us physical and emotional pain. God wants us to trust in him with all our hearts and acknowledge him and what he does in our lives. It will bring healing to our flesh and refreshment to our bones.

The song Goodness of God resonates well in this verse.

🎶Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God. “🎶
