While preparing to sleep, my second son excitedly stood up and started a very interesting conversation:
Migs: I have an idea!!! Daddy, when you and mommy are old, I will invent a tripod with a button. If you press the button, you will see all the happy memories!!!
Jacob: I want to order one!
Marcus: Order one!
Everyone laughed but my eldest, Jacob pressed his head on his pillow with mixed smiles and tears.
Me: Why are you crying? Are you sad and happy at the same time?😂
Jacob: Because the happy memories… and then you are old or gone.
Me: That’s a nice invention he made. 😁 It’s okay to be sad sometimes when you remember old memories. Remember, the purpose of the happy memories you have is that when you remember them, it makes you smile and thank God for those memories. Then you try to share and make a happy memory with those people around you like friends, classmates, even adults.
You know, some kids you’ll meet have bad memories growing up. If you make a happy moment with them, it may make their day and change their outlook in life. After many years they will look back and find that happy memory you shared with them and it will make them smile too. 🤗
He smiled and started playing with his brothers again. 😘

We may think that the time we spend with our kids is a waste or sometimes just a way to finish the day, but these moments are invested. It is like we are banking happy memories with them so that when they face difficult moments in their lives they have happy memories to remember with us.
